Urban and rural storefronts are disappearing in the wake of commercial developments and interstate highways.  Due to overcrowding, bypasses were built to go around the communities.  The industrial revolution became the commerical revolution. 

Every little town and city had thriving storefronts.  They lined both sides of Main Street. The street had a barbershop, beauty shop, hardware store, dime store, mom and pop store, the jeweler, the furniture and appliance store, and the drugstore.  (Read more...)
