1- What are my Frame Options?

Prints:

Prints can be framed in our Standard metal frame, in two profiles or a black wood frame.  All prints are shipped with clear Plexiglas except  Canvas prints and prints with wood frames.

Canvas Prints:

Canvas prints can be Gallery Wrapped on a Small, .75 inch, frame or Gallery Wrapped on our Large, 1.50 inch frame, canvas prints can also be framed in our Black wood Frame, Wood Frames do not have clear Plexiglas. Edge options are image wrapped around frame edges or image on front and all edges either black or white. Please Note:
Gallery Wrapped frames with the image wrapped around frame will reduce the image size on front of frame, please select this option with care so that you do not lose any part of the print.

Canvas prints only are shipped with one and one half inches of white canvas left on all sides for your stretching or framing.  (Top)

2- Are your prints borderless?
No, paper prints have approximately 1/8" white trim edges to protect image during shipping and handling. 
Canvas prints are shipped with one and one half inches of fabric on all sides for stretching purposes.  (Top)
3- Do I need any additional hanging hardware?

No, Prints in Metal or Wood frames come complete with hangers and picture frame wire.  Canvas frames are shipped with unique Patent Pending hardware that easily and correctly positions your frame on the wall. Complete instructions are included.  (Top)
4- Do you print images in Black and White or Sepia?
Yes we do, any of our images can be converted to Black and White or Sepia at no additional charge, just select either option at time of order. Our standard print is in color and will be shipped that way unless you specify an option. (Top)
5- How long will my print last?
We use only Epson Wide Format printers and Epson Ultra Chrome Pigment inks, all prints have an Epson recommended UV inhibitor applied, resulting in an expected life rating of 100 years. Please do not mount your print in direct sun light if possible.  (Top)
6- Some images show dust or other marks, will they appear in my print?
No, due to batch scanning processes we may have not been able to remove all these imperfections.  Prior to printing each image is inspected for dust, scratches and marks, our technicians remove these, color correct to the original and optimize for printing. Insuring that your print is a true Moment in Time. (Top)
7- Will the water mark appear on my print?
No, the water mark is only used for display purposes on our site. When we remove scratches, any marks and color correct to the original then remove the water mark.  (Top)
8- Do you offer custom sizes?
Yes we do, please email your requirements and any additional information, we will contact you shortly.  (Top)
9- Do you crop images?

Yes, our images are from 35mm film. They do not enlarge proportionally (aspect ratio) to standard sizes of 8" x 10", 11" x 14", 16" x 20", 20" x 30"and 30" x 40". We crop using the focal point of each image which is the Theater and or its Marquee. Cropping each image to standard sizes allows the use of standard size frames available at big box and hobby stores as well as framers.. (Top)

Photo restoration and digital files may also require cropping to fit the size ordered.
We also crop these using the focal point of the image, the Theater and it's Marquee, if you have special concerns about cropping, before ordering contact us via email or specify cropping information in Special Instructions at check out.  (Top)

10- What is Viewing Distance?

Viewing distance is the diagonal of the image, which is considered as normal for the eye to perceive the image correctly. For instance the viewing distance of a 30 inch by 40 inch image is just under four feet which is considered normal.
Our Images are from 35mm Kodachrome slide film which is widely regarded as one of the best films for resolution, color accuracy, tonal range, color stability over extended periods of time and one of the finest grained films available.
Our newer images are from high resolution full frame Digital SLR Nikon and Canon cameras and will be so noted.

11-What is Commercial Licensing ?

Photo images are licensed to be used by individuals or companies for specific projects, such as calendars, books, brochures, advertising campaigns and media. This is for a fee and is for a very specific time and use. It is the same as leasing a car, you have the right to use the image under a written agreement, at the end of the agreement you no longer are able to use the image. Fees are based on type of use, length of use, etc. American Classic Images retains all copy rights of each and all images.  (Top)

12-How do I care for my print or canvas?
Prints and Canvas should not be displayed in direct sunlight. Your print or canvas are produced with Epson Ultrachrome inks with an expected life of 100 plus years but direct sunlight is still a determent.
Plexiglas should be wiped gently with a soft dry cloth or Microfiber, then a spray of clean water and wiped dry. Never use cleaners containing abrasives, solvents, alcohol or ammonia. Many larger stores and hardware stores carry products specifically recommended for Plexiglas.

Canvas prints have a UV inhibitor applied but should be cleaned only with a soft dry cloth or Microfiber.
Never use water or liquid cleaners, they will permanently mark canvas.  (Top)

13-How do I prepare and send my photograph

You can use our Upload Tool to request a quote or send an image with your order.
You must register or login before you can add files from your computer and Upload them to us.

To request a quote:

Follow the instructions below for Uploading or you can mail your photograph, a good copy of it
or a CD/DVD containing your image. If mailing please print out our order form on the Upload page,
fill in the information you need quoted and mail with your image, we will contact you as soon as we 
have your package.

Preparing your Photograph:

1-Sending via our Upload Tool:

Scan your original image at a minimum of 300 DPI in the Finished size you want, scanning at 600 DPI
if possible, gives us more to work with in some cases of damaged photographs. If you do not have a
scanner, copy centers can scan and save to a CD/DVD for you.

Save your file in a TIFF or JPEG format,in RGB mode. We do prefer TIFF as they do not lose image quality 
each time they are opened, do give your file a unique name to make it easy to find, like "Uncle Keith's 50th"

Register or login on our site, go to the Upload Tool, under Custom services on Menu Bar. Click Add Files,
browse your computer for your scanned file, then simply click on Upload Files, in placing an order,
finish  order form on the same page, 
be sure to give us the name of your file.

2-Sending the original by mail:

 Be sure to package your photograph between two pieces of cardboard and tape them together for extra
 strength. Use a strong photo mailer, bubble package or box. Place your quote request form with the
 photograph to be sure it is identifiable. Mail or ship via US Post Office,  FedEx or UPS in a traceable
 package to our mailing address, be sure to give us your name, address and how we can contact you.
 All photographs will be returned to you. 

Be sure to write PHOTO DO NOT BEND on your package, the post office will give this package special
attention

 Send a CD/DVD of your photograph. To avoid sending your valuable original, have it scanned as above, 
 save it to a CD/DVD and mail it  with the request form to us, be sure to give us your name, address and
 how to contact you. (Top)

14-Do you save my credit card or bank information?

No, as a security feature we use PayPal for all online transactions. Your credit card and bank information is only given to PayPal. 
We do not store, save or have access to your personal information.

15-Do you ship outside of the United States?

 Yes we do, how ever all orders shipped outside of the Continental United States are charged shipping. Please request a shipping charge quote before ordering.

We do mostly "Prints Only" Luster Paper or Canvas outside of the Continental United States and customers have them mounted or framed locally.

 16-Do I own the image I purchased?

 No, you own a copy of the image but not the original. All copy rights belong to American Classic Images and all
rights are reserved by American Classic Images .Print's cannot be copied, scanned, distributed as in email or social media. Works or products cannot be created from the print. Please contact us is you wish to license an image.
